In that role, he works with states, school districts, and other partners to build postsecondary pathways that give students opportunities to pursue their aspirations and achieve upward economic mobility.His skills and areas of expertise include:Program design and developmentPolicy development and implementationEquitable access to college and career opportunitiesCollege and career advisementCommunity and economic developmentCross-sector partnershipsStrategic data useBefore joining JFF, Jerre served as the senior director of career pathways at the Tennessee Department of Education. In that role, he led Tennessee Pathways, a state effort to develop and scale high-quality education-to-career pathways. He also oversaw K-12 initiatives, including ACT and SAT preparation programs, career exploration and advisement activities, early postsecondary opportunities, innovative high school models, and multiple federal and private grants.Jerre began his career in education as a college admissions officer and later worked in K-12 education as a high school college counselor, a teacher, and a coach.“I am passionate about supporting students in the transition from high school graduation to college and career success,” Jerre says. “The opportunities for innovation and collaboration among schools, colleges, and employers are immense, and JFF is uniquely positioned to support each of these stakeholder groups. I am excited to support stakeholders across the country in developing innovative partnerships and solutions based on their local context and goals.”Beyond work, Jerre loves the outdoors and most every sport, but especially golf. In his next career, he aspires to be a sommelier.
