A recent Education Week blog showcased themes from Jobs for the Future’s (JFF) national Summit “Voices of Opportunity and Economic Mobility” held on June 28 and 29th in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Guest blogger Bryant Best, a program associate in the Innovation Lab Network at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), highlighted two breakout sessions in particular. He first described a session on innovative examples of high school and postsecondary pathways in cybersecurity, a high-demand, high-wage field. Next, Mr. Best discussed a session on how to scale efforts connecting high schools, postsecondary institutions, and employers. This session featured JFF’s Pathways to Prosperity initiative, providing examples from its national Network of states and regions that are implementing grade 9-14 career pathways. Tennessee and Delaware - which was awarded a New Skills for Youth grant by CCSSO - were the two states profiled.
