JFF CEO Maria Flynn was recently quoted in an Education Dive article about the tactics colleges are adopting to help workers affected by the economic crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many colleges are shifting gears to offer short-term training courses to help newly unemployed workers develop skills and expertise that are in demand in today’s shifting economy. Part of the challenge they face is identifying which industries are hiring and what skills companies are seeking.

“It’s important for colleges, whether they be community colleges or four-year institutions, to be working really closely with their local business community, with their public workforce system leaders and also community-based organizations, to really be designing solutions that are going to work for workers in this moment,” Flynn told Education Dive.
