Lexi Barrett, senior director of national education policy at JFF, and Stephanie Krauss, director of special projects at JFF and CASEL CSI advisor, co-wrote an article for the Measuring SEL blog about the importance of social-emotional and deeper learning, skillsets that standardized tests just aren't equipped to properly measure.

These staffers suggest (and research supports their conclusion) that a "comprehensive system of assessments" is what schools need to implement in order to gauge students' every capability.
