We also heard from Diane Walker, director of industry liaison and postsecondary partnerships for the Antelope Valley Union High School District in California, who discussed the district’s efforts to develop industry-driven career pathways in partnership with local employers while also offering homegrown human services in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Social Services.
Both Walker and Ballinger pointed to a growing hunger in the field for opportunities to work with partners to bring about change. The moment is now.
“Better Together” will continue through April. We will hear about more targeted strategies in future episodes.
A New Toolkit of Strategies
Over the course of the series, we look forward to hearing all of the stories of partnership that the network will share, and we hope that participants will walk away from the webinars with a new toolkit of strategies to jump-start equitable economic recoveries in their communities.
By drawing on the knowledge of our greater Postsecondary Network, we can point to shining examples and continue to form a community that continually strives to work better together. Our current moment is calling for a reckoning and a truly equitable economic recovery. Join us as we learn how we can be better together.
